OUR FOUNDER

Helen Nicholson

Helen built The Edge out of frustration. She had sat through enough strategy days in windowless boardrooms to know they were getting in the way of the work, so she built the room she always wanted to be in: one that looks straight out over the field at DP World Wanderers Stadium, with light, space, and a view that pulls your thinking wider.

She built recovery in too, because she does not see it as a luxury. Her belief is plain: you cannot be brave if you are not well. So the day holds both. Push hard in the room, then reset in the Resilience Room, and come back to the work clearer than you left it, right here in Illovo, Sandton, Johannesburg.

The coffee is amazing, the views are fantastic, and being set right at the Wanderers Stadium gives it a really unique atmosphere. It's the perfect space to spend a full day working — great facilities, comfortable co-working areas, and I even used one of the soundproof booths for a call which worked perfectly. The staff are phenomenal, so helpful and friendly from the moment you walk in. Highly recommend for anyone needing a productive, well-equipped space to work or recharge!

Helen’s team - Sifiso, Harriette, X, Mdudusi, everyone (truly) makes you feel right at home.

I had the luxury of taking my time to fully immerse myself into the entire experience and space, as I worked from one of the co-working spaces for the day, and then ended my day with ‘The Recovery Experience’ (perfect choice).

The space itself lends to pure calm, serenity and peace of mind. Harriette was remarkable “holding my hands” and space for me during ‘The Recovery Experience’ - sauna and cold plunge - from start-to-finish. Looking out at the stadium and the quietness of it all during my session was a reset in itself.
Post this invigorating session I showered and got ready to head home and wind down my week. I was also treated to a complimentary hot beverage (an added treat when booking ‘The Recovery Experience’).

Thank you to Helen and her team for creating what you have, in all its aesthetic prettiness and appeal. This is a gem and I’ll absolutely be going regularly.

My only suggestion for improvement would be more parking allocation.
